The Ishikawa or Fishbone Analysis – Part of Our Lean TQM Toolbox Series

An Ishikawa Analysis diagram is commonly used to resolve complex problems that may have multiple causes by investigating and identifying all of the potential causal factors and their relationships. 

It is often used in design, manufacturing & product development, and we have also found it to be of great use even when there is no glaring problem – specifically, we use it when Value Streaming to reveal the causes of non-value added (NVA) time
